A quiet residential block in Manassas Park turned into a crime scene late Wednesday night after police discovered four people dead inside an apartment—two adults and two children.
Just after 10:40 p.m. on June 5, Manassas Park Police were called to the 9400 block of Lanae Lane for a welfare check. Someone had grown concerned after not hearing from the people living in a downstairs unit. When officers arrived, they forced their way in—and found all four victims already deceased.
While police have not officially released the names of those involved, they confirmed the victims include two adults and two juveniles. Investigators are working to notify the next of kin before releasing further details.
So far, police believe this may have been a murder-suicide, though they’ve stopped short of confirming that definitively. A statement from the department called it “an active investigation” and urged the public to be patient while more facts are gathered.
Manassas Park Police are not seeking any suspects at this time, and no ongoing threat to the public has been reported.
This incident has shaken the quiet Lanae Lane neighborhood, where such violence is rare. As the investigation continues, neighbors are grappling with the heartbreaking loss of life, especially the children.
