Prince William County Animal Control is investigating a heartbreaking case of animal cruelty. Staff at the Battlefield Animal Clinic discovered a severely emaciated Pitbull/Husky-mix abandoned in a cage outside their facility early in the morning on August 25. The dog, in extremely poor condition, was given immediate care but ultimately had to be euthanized to end its suffering.
Surveillance footage captured a light-colored sedan, possibly a Lexus with Maryland tags, pulling into a nearby lot around 4:18AM. A man, described as wearing a baseball cap, white tank top, and a dark shirt draped on his shoulders, was seen removing the cage before driving away. The investigation is ongoing.
