A fatal crash involving a passenger vehicle and a cement truck occurred on Monday afternoon in the Manassas area. The driver of a 2014 Mazda CX-5, a 66-year-old man, was traveling south on Spriggs Road when he entered the intersection at Dumfries Road against a red light and collided with a 2025 Mack cement truck.
Initial investigations suggest the Mazda driver may have suffered a medical emergency before the collision. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The driver of the cement truck, a 50-year-old man, was not injured and remained at the scene.
Authorities are seeking witnesses to the crash as the investigation continues.
