A disturbing hit-and-run incident turned violent when a 40-year-old man was struck by another driver’s vehicle after a traffic collision. The victim was initially rear-ended while stopped at a light at Sudley Rd and Lomond Dr. When he attempted to exchange information near Ashton Ave and Crestwood Dr, the other driver deliberately struck him with his vehicle before fleeing on foot.
In a bizarre twist, a dog inside the suspect’s vehicle escaped and appeared to follow him before possibly being hit by traffic. Police identified the suspect as 33-year-old Jose Marvin Martinez of Manassas through an ID found in the vehicle. Martinez is now wanted for multiple charges, including attempted malicious wounding, DUI (4th in 10 years), hit and run, animal cruelty, animal abandonment, and driving on a suspended license.
