A reported brandishing incident at Manassas Mall led to a foot pursuit and arrest Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to the mall located at 8300 Sudley Road around 1:44PM after two men were seen arguing inside the shopping center. During the dispute, one of the men allegedly brandished a firearm before leaving the area.
Police located the suspect nearby, but he fled on foot when officers attempted contact. Officers observed the suspect run onto the grounds of Westgate Elementary School, where he was quickly detained.
Following the investigation, police arrested 20-year-old Tasheem Rashad Douglas of Manassas.
Douglas has been charged with:

Possession of a firearm on school property

Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Possession of ammunition by a convicted felon

Possession of a loaded firearm in a public area

Carrying a concealed weapon
He is being held on a $5,000 secured bond. A court date is pending.
