Prince William County police charged a Woodbridge man after investigators say a firearm accidentally discharged while he was cleaning it inside his residence.
Officers responding to a destruction of property complaint learned the bullet traveled into a neighboring residence before striking a water pipe, causing additional property damage to nearby homes.
No injuries were reported. Police also determined the firearm involved was a “ghost gun” that lacked an identifiable serial number.
Elijah D’Mitri Miller, 19, of Woodbridge, was charged with reckless handling of a firearm and possession of a firearm without a serial number. He was released on a court summons.
