Time: Charge announced July 15; crash occurred approximately 6:31 a.m. on July 10
Prince William County Police have charged a Woodbridge driver following a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred earlier this month at the Occoquan Commuter Lot.
Crash investigators determined that the driver of a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee failed to stop at a stop sign, contributing to the collision that killed a 78-year-old man who was crossing the commuter lot’s entry and exit lanes.
Police identified the driver as Arlen Yessenia Vivas Perez, 42, of Woodbridge. She has been charged with disregarding a stop sign and was released on a court summons.
The original crash occurred on July 10 when the pedestrian was attempting to cross the Gordon Boulevard entrance and exit lanes of the commuter lot. Police noted the pedestrian was not using a designated crosswalk. The victim later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Investigators continue to ask anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Prince William County Police.
