A Woodbridge woman is facing multiple charges after police say she assaulted an officer while receiving treatment at a hospital following a crash investigation.
Prince William County Police responded to the 14400 block of Aden Road on July 26 to investigate a single-vehicle crash. Officers determined the driver was intoxicated and detained her before she was transported to a hospital.
While at the hospital, police said the woman became aggressive and assaulted an officer twice before she was restrained. The officer was not injured.
Loreta Martha Awino Waziri, 39, of Woodbridge, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, one count of driving under the influence, two counts of obstruction of justice, and one count of refusal of a blood or breath test. She was held without bond, and a court date is pending.
