Prince William County police are investigating a shooting that damaged a vehicle parked outside a Woodbridge hotel.
According to investigators, a 37-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were sleeping inside their parked vehicle in the Sleep Inn parking lot when an unknown man approached them. Following a verbal confrontation, the suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired a single round, striking the vehicle.
The victims did not immediately report the incident. Officers had previously responded to the area after a third-party reported hearing gunfire but found no evidence of a shooting at the time because the victims had already left. The incident came to light the following day during an unrelated traffic stop.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a Black man with fair skin, brown eyes, long dreadlocks, approximately 6 feet tall, and a bulky build.
