Prince William County police are investigating after a driver reportedly brandished what appeared to be a firearm during a road rage encounter that continued from Fairfax County into Woodbridge.

Officers responded to the area of Richmond Highway and Occoquan Road at 4:59 p.m. on August 5.

Police said a 25-year-old man was driving on Richmond Highway from Fairfax County when he became involved in a road rage encounter with the driver of a blue, older-model vehicle, possibly a Honda Civic.

After both vehicles entered Prince William County, the 25-year-old pulled into a service station along Occoquan Road. The other driver reportedly made a U-turn and entered an adjacent parking lot.

Police said the other driver then raised his arm while holding a dark-colored object believed to be a firearm.

The two parties eventually separated. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic man, possibly in his 30s.
