Two Prince William County police officers reported minor injuries during an arrest at the Motel 6 on Dumfries Road in Dumfries.
Officers initially responded to the motel for what was reported as a domestic dispute. Police said one of the people involved was intoxicated and became aggressive and belligerent toward officers and employees.
When officers took the woman into custody, police said she continued to act aggressively and assaulted two officers before being secured.
Laura Shantell Taylor, 34, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, one count of obstruction of justice and one count of public intoxication.
Taylor’s court date was pending, and her status was listed as a $2,500 secured bond.
