Prince William County police announced an arrest in connection with a sexual assault reported in the 8300 block of Sudley Road in Manassas.
Police said a 39-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by an acquaintance in a wooded area near the location. According to the department, the woman was able to separate herself from the alleged assailant and report the incident to police. She sustained injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Detectives obtained warrants for 45-year-old Curtis Lucas Brown Jr., who police listed as having no fixed address. Initial attempts to locate him were unsuccessful.
Police said Brown was taken into custody without incident on August 26. He was charged with one count of rape, one count of abduction with intent to defile, two counts of strangulation, one count of object sexual penetration and one count of assault and battery.
Brown was being held without bond, and his court date was pending at the time of the report.
