String of Vehicle Break-Ins Reported in Manassas Neighborhood

Early Monday morning, a routine fraud alert led Manassas police to uncover a string of car break-ins in a quiet residential area.

Just after 4 a.m. on April 21, a resident in the 9000 block of Coriander Circle reported suspicious activity: a debit card transaction at a Wawa they hadn’t made. The resident suspected the card had been stolen from their vehicle. When Manassas City Police arrived to investigate, they found multiple cars in the area had been broken into—windows intact, but interiors rifled through.

Officers processed the vehicles on the scene for fingerprints and any other evidence that might help identify the responsible party.

This incident serves as a stark reminder: always lock your car doors and refrain from leaving valuables inside overnight. It doesn’t take much for someone to take advantage of an unlocked vehicle.

Police are also asking residents in the neighborhood to review their security or doorbell camera footage for any unusual activity from the early hours of April 21. Anyone with info or footage can call 703-257-8000, or remain anonymous by using the Crime Solvers tip line at 703-330-0330 or the online tip form.
