A Bristow couple has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after police discovered their 12-year-old son had been left home alone for several days.

The investigation began on March 3 when school officials attempted to contact the boy’s parents and learned they were out of town. Concerned, they alerted the school resource officer, who found that the child had been alone at home since February 27.

The boy was unharmed and was placed in the care of Child Protective Services. The parents, Shelton Xir, 31, and Erick Xir, 33, have been released on a court summons, with their hearing date pending.
