A Woodbridge woman has been arrested following a months-long investigation into a fatal crash that claimed two lives earlier this year.
According to police, the crash occurred on March 8 when a 2015 Hyundai Genesis, driven by 27-year-old Jasmine Ariah Thomas, was traveling under the influence and at a speed exceeding the posted limit. Investigators say the vehicle crossed over the median into oncoming traffic, striking a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe head-on.
The collision resulted in the deaths of both occupants of the Santa Fe—a 40-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, both from Woodbridge. The impact also caused a chain reaction involving a third vehicle, a 2025 GMC Hummer, whose driver was not injured. Debris from the crash additionally struck an unoccupied parked vehicle nearby.
Thomas was transported to a hospital at the time of the crash with life-threatening injuries. Following the investigation, she was taken into custody on April 21.
She has been charged with two counts of aggravated involuntary manslaughter, along with offenses related to expired registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. She is currently being held without bond, and court proceedings are pending.
