A Woodbridge man was injured after a firearm accidentally discharged while he was cleaning it inside his home late Sunday night.
Prince William County Police responded to a residence in the 11900 block of Cotton Mill Drive to investigate a self-inflicted shooting. Investigators determined that a 31-year-old man was cleaning his firearm when it discharged, striking him in the hand and leg.
Officers rendered life-saving aid before the man was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries or property damage were reported.
