Prince William County police are investigating an attempted assault involving a chemical irritant at a convenience store in Manassas.
Officers responded to the 7-Eleven on Sudley Road after receiving a report of an assault. Investigators determined that a 40-year-old man was sitting in a parked vehicle with a family member when he was approached by an unknown individual. A verbal confrontation followed, and during the encounter, the suspect allegedly attempted to spray the victim with a chemical irritant before leaving the area on foot.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s who is bald and was wearing a black hat, a black T-shirt with multi-colored writing, and light-colored cargo shorts. The investigation remains ongoing.
