A 66-year-old Michigan man has been arrested and charged with felony assault and battery after an alleged hate-motivated attack in Manassas VA. On September 30, a 51-year-old woman was approached in a business parking lot by the suspect, who reportedly initiated a verbal altercation using profanities and religious slurs.
The suspect, later identified as Matthew Vinod Malaikal, reportedly poked the victim in the face and grabbed her hand, causing minor injuries. Bystanders intervened, prompting the man to flee. Police later identified and arrested Malaikal on October 15.
