A Gainesville woman is facing multiple felony charges after leaving three children under 10 years old unattended in an unsafe apartment. Police responded to a domestic dispute at Somerset Pointe Apartments, where they found the children alone in hazardous conditions.
The suspect, Lindsay Jo Halsey, 32, was detained after returning to the apartment. She reportedly resisted arrest, kicking multiple officers, biting one, and attempting to grab an officer’s holstered weapon. The children were unharmed and placed in the care of known individuals.
Halsey is charged with:
- 3 counts of felony child neglect
- 8 counts of assault & battery on a law enforcement officer
- 1 count of attempted disarming of an officer
- 1 count of obstruction of justice
She is being held without bond and has a court date set for May 30, 2025.
