Time: March 23 (time not specified)
The second suspect wanted in connection to the deadly Dumfries shooting earlier this month is now in custody, marking a significant development in the ongoing murder investigation.
J’Shaun Zomari Williams, 19, of Gainesville, was arrested on March 23 in Richmond with assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force. He faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder and several firearm-related offenses.
The arrest stems from the March 9 shooting at a basketball court in the Potomac Shores community, where a confrontation between two groups escalated into gunfire. Five individuals between the ages of 16 and 20 were shot during the incident. An 18-year-old man from Dumfries later died from his injuries, while the others are expected to recover.
Police say the investigation remains active as detectives continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
