A Woodbridge inmate is facing new charges after allegedly assaulting corrections officers inside the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center.
According to Prince William County Police, the inmate became agitated and assaulted a staff member through the slot of his cell door. Later the same evening, investigators said the inmate again became combative while being escorted back to his cell and assaulted another staff member before being restrained.
No injuries were reported by detention center staff. Following the investigation, officers charged Gabriel Alexander Bruins, 24, of Woodbridge, with two counts of assault and battery on a corrections officer. He remains incarcerated pending a future court date.
